Jeff J. Van

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Jeff J. Van, 74, of Monroe, LA, 1:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2024, at New Light Baptist Church, with Rev. Lindle Stuart and Rev. Marty Black officiating. Interment will follow at New Light Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe. 

Mr. Van was born January 12, 1950 and was called by his Lord and Savior on January 26, 2024. He was an electrician by trade, IBEW Local #446 and just recently received his 50-year service pin. Mr. Van then went to work for International Paper for 20 years until he retired. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, but more importantly spending time with his grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Mary Van; and daughter, Jessica Van Priest.

Survivors include his wife of 49 ½ years, Peggy G. Van; son, Jay Van and wife Brandy; two grandchildren, Samuel Van Priest and Kinley Jo Van; siblings, Judy Rabun, Jackie Yerger and husband John, John W. Van and wife Lisa, Jan Bower and husband Charlie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends; and his dogs, “Ruby” and “SB”.

Pallbearers will be, Mikel Deville, Chip Bower, Justen Yerger, Jordan Van, Mark Harris, and Mack Anderson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lonnie Shows, Gary Perkins, Wayne Van, Sr., Gabe Bower, Bradley Hart, and Jaesen Yerger.

Memorials may be made to New Light Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Francis Medical Center ER and ICU#6.
