Graveside Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Jeannette Clarkson Wallace, 100, of Fort Collins, CO, will be 2:30 PM Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Terry Slawson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jeannette Clarkson Wallace was born in Pine Bluff, AR on June 6, 1924, to A.B. Clarkson and Merle Mays Clarkson. Mother died on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Fort Collins, CO, where she lived for the last eight years of her life, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Her parents moved to Monroe, when she was a child, and she grew up on Glenmar Avenue in the house that her father built when she was eight years old. She attended Georgia Tucker Elementary School and graduated from Neville High School in 1941.
In the fall of 1941, she left Monroe to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She returned to Monroe after college and worked for United Gas. She married Charles Allen Wallace at the First Baptist Church in April 1945. They had four children born to them, Gail, Ann (Frosty), Joan and Allen. Our mother was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter, Frosty.
She is survived by her children, Gail, Joan, and Allen, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Mother lived a remarkable and blessed life. She was a happy person in her life, and she loved Jesus with her whole heart. She also was a devoted friend to her childhood and schoolmates, along with more lifelong friends than you could count. She stayed in touch with all of them throughout her life.
Her love for animals was a big part of her life. She always had a leash or two in her hand…. She loved children, birthday parties, July 4th, and all of the beautiful outdoors. Her walks on the beach in Destin, and fishing with her cane pole at Lake Bruin, among all the family she so loved, were favorite times in her life. Her love for her children and all her nieces and nephews and extended family and her children’s friends and families was who she was….She was simply the best at everything.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for the life of this child of God, who lived for 100 blessed years.
We love you, Mother.
