Janice Louise Scarf Keenan

Funeral services for Janice Louise Scarf Keenan, 71, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10am, Wednesday, April 19, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM, at Maitland Plantation Family Cemetery, Ferriday, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Janice passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at Glenwood Hospital, West Monroe, LA. She was a longtime member of Rowland Road Baptist Church. She loved horses, spending time outside, barrel racing, rodeo’s and parades.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel St. Clair Keenan and parents, John Walter and Dorothea Morrison Scarf. Son, John Steven Gray. Sister, Jo Ann Scarf and brother, Rev John Ernest Scarf.

Survivors include her two daughters, Samantha DeBord and husband Rodney, and Nicole Keenan; son, Troy Keenan and wife Susan; sister, Julia Lee Cowart and husband Johnny; grandchildren, Jacob Keenan, Brenna Keenan, Ashley Simms and Chance Simms; and great granddaughter, Aleaha Bailey. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Bailey, Chris Minor, Chance Simms, Jacob Keenan, Rodney DeBord, and John Baker.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18, 2017, 5pm to 8pm, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of the 2nd floor ICU at Glenwood Hospital. Thank you for taking so much good care of our mother!

Memorials may be made to Rowland Road Baptist Church.

If you reach LA 921 you have gone too far.
