Funeral services for Jane Sisson Watts of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 2, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Pastor Shawn Hornsby of McGuire Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at Hasley Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.
Jane was born in Monroe, Louisiana on July 7, 1929 and lived most of her life in West Monroe. She was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School and an Honor Graduate of Louisiana Tech. She was employed by the Louisiana Department of Social Services for many years before retiring in the 1980s.
Jane was married for more than fifty years to James “Jim” Watts. They were life-long members of McGuire Methodist Church and worked tirelessly for their church family. She was active in civic organizations, especially Quota International and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Jane enjoyed travel, spending time with family, and playing cards with friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, Marvin Dewey Sisson, Sr. and Fannie May Thomas Sisson; and a brother, Marvin Dewey Sisson, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her twin sons, Randy Watts and wife, Elizabeth of Delhi, LA and Ray Watts and wife, Fiona of Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren, Randy Watts, Jr. of Arab, AL, Aaron Watts and his wife, Jennifer of Birmingham, AL, Heather Watts of Birmingham, AL and Camille Watts of Wiggins, MS; and two great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Aiden Watts of Arab, AL.
Pallbearers will be Randy Watts, Jr., Aaron Watts, Troy Booth, George Booth, Jr, Blake Hearne and Scotty Gwin.
The family extends special thanks to the caring and compassionate staff of Le Grand Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Bastrop, LA and Ouachita Healthcare and Rehabilitation of Monroe, LA as well as Premier Hospice of Bastrop who supported Jane at the end of her life.
The family welcome floral memorials as mom loved flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to McGuire Methodist Church, 2075 Arkansas Road, West Monroe, LA 71291.
