Jane Golson Cutler (93), of Delhi, Louisiana passed away Friday, April 07, 2017 at her home. “Teensie,” as she was known by many, was born in Mangham, Louisiana, September 13, 1923.
Jane was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School and Northeast Junior College. She was a member of the Delhi Garden Club, and was instrumental in establishing the historical preservation of the “Hannah House” for local events and venues in Delhi. She enjoyed antiquing, trips to Canton, Texas, and having afternoon coffee with “the girls”. Jane was a longtime member of the Delhi United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School to preschool children.
Jane was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband of 72 years, Mr. William Ralph (Billy) Cutler, her parents, Dr. John Wesley Golson and Mrs. Neita Webb Golson, and her beloved son, Ralph Wesley Cutler.
Jane is survived by her Son and Daughter-in-law, John Golson Cutler and Judy Harvey Cutler of Monroe; the light of her life and only grandchild, Ashley Layne Cutler of Baton Rouge; Sister, Mrs. June Golson Eby of Monroe; Nieces, Lynda Eby McGehee of Monroe, Leah Eby Stewart of Monroe, and Ann Vincent Pardue of Dallas; Nephews, Chris Eby and Lee Vincent of Monroe, as well as a host of great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Cutler will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 10, 2017, at the Delhi United Methodist Church with Rev. Henry Stone, Rev. Paul Lipe, and Rev. Ted Fine officiating. Interment will be in Delhi Masonic Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, Louisiana. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Bagwell, Mike Colvin, Chris Eby, Bruce Johnson, Pat Lane, Jr., and Mike Thompson. Honorary Pallbearers are Senator Francis Thompson, Jimmy Hopson, and Frank Earl Maxwell, Jr.
The Cutler Family would like to extend their utmost thanks to Jane’s wonderful caregivers, Nan Runshur, Lorraine Johnson, and Julie Best, all of which have gone above and beyond their rolls of caregivers and have become family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Delhi United Methodist Church.
