Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. James W. Spears, 64, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, December 29, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA, with Bro. John Spears officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

James was born April 17, 1954 and passed away December 24, 2018. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as well as his family. James was the family clown and loved to make everyone laugh. He loved the outdoors and loved being on the water. James had a big heart and would do whatever he could for anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elsie; step-father, Bob Elsie; and his son, Chris Spears.

Survivors include his daughter, Chelsea Spears, grandson, Cameron Spears, and granddaughter, Brooklyn Spears of Metairie; daughter, Cheyenne Sturgis and husband Devon Sturgis of Monroe, granddaughter, Nona Alice Sturgis; son, David Spears of Sterlington; parents, father, Samuel Spears, Sr. and step-mother, Elvena Spears of West Monroe, LA; brothers, Sam Spears, Jr. and wife Shonda of Jena, LA, John Spears and wife Louise of Jena, LA, and Clifton Spears of Rayville, LA; sisters, Charlotte Grissom and husband Danny of Collinston, LA and Tessy Sellar and husband Mike of West Monroe, LA; step-sister, Kim Lively and husband Gary of North Carolina; step-brother, John Trahan of West Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
