Funeral services for James Travis Sayers, 82, of Monroe, will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2018, in the Fellowship Center of Whites Ferry Road Church of Christ with David Brumley and Mike Kellett officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Sayers was born July 29, 1935, in Magnolia, AR, and passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at his residence. He was a member of Whites Ferry Road Church of Christ and Twin City Classic Chevy Club. Mr. Sayers was a United States Army veteran and a project manager for Architecture Plus.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Janie Foster Sayers; children, Melissa Duncan and husband Chuck, and Ken Sayers and wife Lori; grandchildren, Jana Davis and husband Michael, and Christy Duncan and her friend Cullen Bishop; 3 great-grandchildren, Maylin, Hartlie, and Isla Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Brown, Joe Cassiere, Ronnie Thrift, Mike Sanders, Gary Watts, and Anthony Bartley. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Eads.
Memorials may be made to Whites Ferry Road Church of Christ, North Monroe Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.
