Mr. James “Skeeter” Traweek
Funeral service for Mr. James “Skeeter” Traweek, 76, of Monroe will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Jackson Street Church of Christ with Brother Don DeLukie officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
Mr. Traweek passed away on February 22, 2014, in Monroe. He was a member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ. Mr. Traweek was a machinist for over 50 years working on automotive engines and his customers became his friends. He was extremely proud of his roots and his family growing up in Mangham, LA. Drinking coffee at the Waffle House was one of his favorite things to do in the morning with his friends and when he was able he loved to fish. His whole life was devoted to his family, his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.
Mr. Traweek was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Lonez Traweek; sister, Audrey Harris; and three brothers, Jimmy Traweek, Bobby Traweek, and Carlton Traweek.
Throughout his life his devoted wife loved and cared for him especially in the last few and most difficult of years. All of the children, grandchildren, and family were extremely proud of how their mother looked after Mr. Traweek with unconditional love and care. Mr. Traweek lived by God, Family and Friends.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Barbara Traweek, children, Mickey Traweek and wife Laurie; Rodney Traweek and wife Pam; Todd Traweek and wife Sharon; and Susan Hathaway and husband Wade; grandchildren, Lance Traweek, Lauren Traweek and fiancée Chris Voorhees, Adam Traweek, Blake Traweek, Luke Traweek, Tanner Traweek, Chelsea Traweek, Cole Hathaway; and brother, Wayne Traweek.
Pallbearers will be Carlton Traweek , Jr., Jamie Traweek, Jason Traweek, Allen Wayne Traweek, Scott Traweek, Brian Traweek, Christopher Hinton, and Chris Voorhees.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the ALS Association (Lou Gehrigs Disease).
