James S. White

Funeral services for James S. White, 70, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 31, 2016, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Marcelle Crow officiating. Interment will follow at Sandy Bayou Cemetery, Caldwell Parish, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.


Mr. White died Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Reeves Memorial Medical Center, Bernice, LA. He was a retired superintendent for the City of Monroe. He loved the outdoors and gardening. He taught all of his children how to hunt, fish and grow a garden.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Cora Galbraith White; his wife of over 35 years, Lorane Haynes White; five brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include his daughters, Shelia Cararas and husband Stewart, Debbie Kindrix and wife Jackie, Jaime Pittman and husband Chris; son, Preston White and wife Anissa; grandchildren, Abby Pittman, Victoria Chapman, Scott Cararas, Hunter Gibson, Gunner Gibson, and Zach White; three great grandchildren; two brothers; and four sisters.


Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
