James Posey, known to everyone as Jimmy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14 at the age of 68. He will be lovingly celebrated and remembered by his wife, his children, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he considered to be his greatest treasure, and his friends.
Jimmy made everyone smile; he often said that “Everyone loves a Posey,” and he was truly the rule for this. He greeted others warmly with terms of endearment and affection. His life revolved around laughter, well-starched clothes, and yelling at the referees during Dallas Cowboy football games. Jimmy’s life was truly like one of the crossword puzzles that he loved to work on. Everyone and everything had the exact, correct spots in his life; he never needed to look at the answer key, and he always wrote in pen.
Because Jimmy lived simply and lovingly, his passing will be celebrated in a similar fashion.
The family will be holding a visitation only at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Rayville on Wednesday, January 18th from 5:00-8:00, and a private memorial service for family will occur at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
