James Stewart "Bo" Perkins

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. James Stewart “Bo” Perkins, 80, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:30 A.M., Friday, December 23, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Eugene Brown and Rev. Tom Lowe officiating.  Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until service time on Friday.

Mr. Perkins was born in Glenmora, LA on March 23, 1942, to Chester and Vera Perkins.  James served in the United States Navy for 4 years. He started his job at Graphic Packaging and retired after 37 years of service. He was a member of Christ Church in West Monroe. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing country and gospel songs. Mr. Perkins performed at the Northeast Louisiana Hayride and recorded a record in 1977. He was an avid football fan and loved the Rebels! He also enjoyed fishing and traveling. He whole heartedly loved and cherished his family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Perkins; and his parents, Chester and Vera Perkins.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Sylvia Perkins; his son, Shane Perkins and wife Ashley; daughter, Melanie Jones and husband Charlie; four grandchildren, Andrew Clairday, Hunter Jones, Landon Jones, and Luke Perkins; sister, Brenda Auttonberry; as well as numerous family members and special friends.

Pallbearers will be Dwain Jordan, Kerry Jordan, Andrew Clairday, Hunter Jones, Landon Jones, and Luke Perkins.
