Funeral services for Mr. James Pasquale Scalia, Jr., 90, of Monroe, LA, will be held 11:00AM Thursday, September 10, 2020, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road with Rev. Jerry Daigle officiating. A private family graveside will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until 11:00AM Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Scalia was born July 18, 1930, in Monroe, LA and passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at his residence in Monroe, LA surrounded by loved ones. After a wonderful life, our Poppa is at peace with our Lord and Savior. He graduated from St. Matthew Catholic High School and retired from many years of service as Business Manager at the Orthopedic Clinic in Monroe, LA. He was also, a retired Army Captain and belonged to the Louisiana National Guard Officer Association. Mr. Scalia was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Mr. Scalia is preceded in death by his parents, Mary LaSuzzo and James Pasquale Scalia, Sr. and sister, Jo Marie Etier.
Survivors include wife of 65 years, Gwen Scalia; daughter, Toni Scalia Draughn (Robert); son, James Pasquale Scalia, III (Stuart); sister, Linda Faye Scalia; grandchildren, Kacie Lea Reeves, Miranda Stuart Hemrick (Ryan), James Pasquale Scalia, IV (Jennifer), and Mary Ellis Scalia; great grandchildren, Jack Reeves, Peyton Reeves, Marley Reeves, James Pasquale Scalia, V, Sosie Hemrick, Ellery Hemrick, Jaxon Scalia, and Rhodes Hemrick.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Ford, Larry Hall, Phillip Arthur, Warren Ezell, Jack Brantly, general Ed Gering, the Louisiana National Guard Retirees Association, and the surgeons and staff at the Orthopedic Clinic of Monroe, LA.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
