Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, father-in-law, and dear friend has left this earth. James Eppinette left us on May 27, 2018, and we will miss him dearly. Funeral services celebrating his life will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 31, 2018, in the Worship Center of First Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, with Dr. Mark Fenn and Rev. Zach Anderson officiating. Private family graveside services will be held in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Visitation will be held from Noon until service time on Thursday at First Baptist Church, West Monroe.
James Michael Eppinette was born on June 3, 1959, in Houston, TX. He graduated from Northwood High School in 1977, then Louisiana College in 1981, receiving a B.S. Magna Cum Laude. He completed LSU School of Medicine obtaining his medical degree in 1985. He was Chief Resident of Family Practice at LSU Hospital, Shreveport, LA from July 1988-June 1989. He worked many years in private practice at Drew Outpatient Clinic. He was currently on staff at St. Francis Medical Center as a Hospitalist and as Medical Director of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care. James was caring and compassionate in his career and was adored by the thousands of patients he has come in contact with over the years.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 32 years, Terry Nicklas Eppinette; his three daughters, Erin Foster and husband Clint, Sara Reeves and husband Trey, and Kasie Rainwater and husband Lee; four grandchildren, Atlee and Merritt Foster, and Will and Jonah Reeves; his parents, Jimmy and Jerry Eppinette; two brothers, John Eppinette and wife Debbie, and Jeff Eppinette and wife Carolyn; and also, numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Steve George, Tim Hammett, Rocky Kingrea, Wes Loflin, Brant Mathieu, Mike Nicklas and Wayne Rutledge.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to First West Counseling Center.
