Mr. Coons was born January 23, 1938, in Jonesboro, AR, and passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, in West Monroe, LA.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Monell “Frankie” Coons; sons, James Levi Coons, III and wife Donna, of LaPlace, LA, Robert Wayne Coons and wife Tracie, of Monroe, LA, Scott David Coons and wife Lynn, of West Monroe, LA; daughter, Theresa Coons Head and husband Tom, of Memphis, TN; step-sons, Danny Young of Banderos, TX, James Davis and wife Mindy, of Grand Prairie, TX; step-daughters, Shari Ouchley and husband Stan, of Rocky Branch, LA, Susan Stratton and husband Tom, of Farmerville, LA, Wendy Perkins and husband Damin, of Nashville, TN; 4 brothers; 6 sisters; 32 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 14, 2017, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
