Funeral Services for Mr. James L. “Jamie” Harris, 41, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 21, 2010 in the Worship Center of First Baptist Church of West Monroe, LA with Rev. Dwight Munn officiating.

Jamie was born on February 27, 1969 and passed away on August 16, 2010. Jamie worked for United Parcel Services of Monroe for 24 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe, LA. He was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother and uncle. Jamie’s priority in life was “his children”. His stories of his family followed him on his route every day of life. Jamie always knew what to say and do to keep a smile on your face.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Wayne Harris and grandfather, Herbert Lee Harris, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Angela Martin Harris; his children, U.S.M.C. Cpl. Christopher Lee Storm and his wife Samantha of Wilmington, N.C, Caitlyn Rhea Harris and James Zachary Harris of West Monroe; Mother, Mary Harris Whitehead and husband Rodney of Taylor AR; brothers, Ronnie Harris of Heflin, LA; Gary Harris and wife, Ashley of Springhill, LA; grandparents, Mary Ella Harris of Sanger, TX; Dovie Carroll; Alton Jackson Hanson both of Taylor, AR; father and mother-in-laws: James and Phel Meredith of Monroe, LA; Bob and Theresa Martin of Monroe, LA; brother and sister-in-laws, Bobby Martin and wife Lisa; Gerry Hicks and wife Terri both of West Monroe, LA.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Gerry Hicks, Joshua Ivey, Bryan Cowart, Brandon Land, Trevor Land, and Eddie Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers will be UPS drivers.


Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, August 20, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, and on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 1:00 P.M until service time at First Baptist Church of West Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to the account that has been set up in the name of Angela J. Harris Fund, for the Family of James Harris, at all Iberia Bank branches.
