James "Jim" Phillips Pettit

A funeral service for Mr. James “Jim” Phillips Pettit, 92, of Monroe, LA, will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 10, 2022, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until service time in the Mausoleum Chapel on Friday, June 10, 2022.

James was born on July 28, 1929 and passed away on June 4, 2022. After faithfully serving in the United States Navy, he worked as a manager in the paper industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Ruby Pettit; son, Randy Pettit; grandson, William Christopher Pettit; brother-in-law, Jack Cannon; and his beloved wife, Carolyn Sue Pettit.

Survivors include his son, Scott Pettit and wife Linda; grandchildren, Amanda Currier and Rikki LeMere; great grandchildren, Eric Currier, Evan Currier, Brianna Currier, and Emily LeMere; sister, Betty Jane Cannon; sister-in-law, Gay Richie; daughter-in-law, Peggy Pettit; nieces, Pam Chenevert and Susan Richie; nephew, Tod Richie; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
