Funeral Services Celebrating the life of James “Jim” Edward Stricklin, Sr., 82, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 26, 2018 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. David Moreland officiating. Interment will follow in the Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA.
James “Jim” was born on June 24, 1935 in West Monroe, LA and died at the Landmark Nursing Home on January 24, 2018 following a very lengthy illness. He was a retired Police Officer and Maintenance Supervisor with the city of West Monroe. Jim was a very devoted husband and father, who loved his family and Jesus, his Savior, very much. Jim was a very kind and generous man always putting others before himself. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Lee Stricklin, Sr. and Sally Martin Stricklin; and his brothers, Robert Stricklin and Frederick Lee Stricklin, Jr.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Linda Gay Stricklin; son, James “Jamie” Edward Stricklin, Jr. and wife, Eddice; daughter, Sherry Lynn Kuhn; grandchildren, Janice Seneff and husband, Gene, Lindsey Stricklin, Reece Kuhn, and Amanda Bratton and husband, Justin; great grandchildren, John Luke “Logan” Reymundo, Peyton Price, Hunter Seneff, Madison Price, Mayce Madden, Cainnan Bratton, and Bryce Bratton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Avery, Dale Smith, Larry Norris, Calvin Woodall, Johnny Mitchell, Chris Sasser, Stan Hayden, and Jeff Terrell. Honorary Pallbearers will be All the Old Timers of West Monroe Police Department.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the Wounded Warrior Project or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
