James “Jim” Allen Howell was born on September 30, 1967 in West Monroe, LA and passed away on May 10, 2024, in Farmerville, LA with the love of his life of 27 years holding his hand. In his younger years, Jim loved sports, Baseball, being the one he excelled at. In his adult life, he found much joy in a good round of golf with his buddies, but fishing was his true passion and he lived for catching big bass. Jim enjoyed surrounding himself with life-long friends, having a good time and was always the life of the party. He loved telling stories and making people laugh with his jokes and quick wit, where he loved to flash his devilish grin. Jim was happiest being in the home he and Shannon made on Lake D’Arbonne, frying fish or grilling on the dock. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Sharon Howell.
Survivors include his wife, Shannon McMillon of Farmerville, LA; sister, Janet Howell of West Monroe, LA; niece, Karli Griffin of West Monroe, LA and three great nephews, Kolton, Jack and Klayton; as well as beloved cousins and treasured friends, and to Jim friends were family.
At a later date, Jim’s life and memory will be honored with a gathering of friends for a fish fry, to which stories will be told and shared just the way Jim would have wanted it.
His sister, niece, cousins and friends would like to voice their appreciation, gratitude, and love to Shannon for her love, care and devotion to Jim for 27 years. We could not have hand picked another that would have loved or done more than you. You have and will always remain a God send. We thank you from the depths of our hearts and souls. We pray that when you think of Jim, it will always be with fond memories, love and of course a smile.
