Services for James Henry “Buddy” Guthrie, Sr., 76 of Rayville will be 11:00AM Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Rayville United Methodist Church with Bro. John Kavanaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville.

James was born on July 10, 1941 in New Orleans and passed from this life on May 8, 2018 in Monroe. He loved the game of golf and playing golf, an avid Saint’s and LSU football fan. He loved fishing, and watching birds and squirrels eating. He loved Cajun Food. He loved baseball games and watching his grandchildren play baseball.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Beatrice Clement Guthrie; a brother, Malcolm Joseph Guthrie, Jr. and his beloved dog; Saint.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Julie Cochran Guthrie; son, James Henry Guthrie, Jr. and wife Melissa of Monroe; 4 grandchildren, Joseph Benjamin Guthrie, Jacob Thomas Guthrie, Jenna Hope Guthrie, and Jillian Faith Guthrie; siblings, Robert Clement Guthrie, wife Susan, Barbara Guthrie Bohannon, William Charles Guthrie, Wife Eileen, Michael David Guthrie, fiancé Mary, and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Terry Copeland, Donald Cumpton, Charles Germany, Dr. Brent White, David Lee, and Mark Armstrong.
