James Frederick Manning Sr.
Funeral Services for Mr. James Frederick Manning, Sr., 77, of Monroe, LA, will be Tuesday, December 22, at 10:00 A.M. at Loch Arbor Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday, December 21 5:00- 7:00 at Mulhearn’s on 165.
Mr. Manning was born on February 16, 1943 and passed from this life into his Lord and Savior’s arms on Thursday, December 17, 2020, in Monroe.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Judy; children, Cindy Wheeler and husband Steve, James F. “Bubba” Manning, Jr (Allison), Jana Word (Willie), and Ainsley Manning; grandchildren, Steven (Lindsay) and Jacob (Jordan) Wheeler, Caroline, Ethan, and Julianna Manning, Cannon, Amelia, Kyleigh, and Harper Wilson; great granddaughter, Jameson; and bonus grandchildren, JoyceAnn and Abigail Word; sisters Eva Gay Christianson (Norwood), Martha Jo Mongold (Dave), and Donna Barnett (Steve); special sisters, Linda Thompson and Karen Sikes (Jerome) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Manning was an active member of Loch Arbor Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Ouachita Lions Football Booster Club and member of IBEW Local 446. He was a hard-working man who was always willing to lend a hand and help others. He loved watching LSU, John Wayne, and Matlock. He was an avid deer hunter who loved spending time in the woods preparing for the hunt with his grandson, Cannon. One of his greatest joys in life was watching his grandchildren, either through pictures or attending baseball games and dance recitals. He loved being a part of their lives.
Pallbearers will be Corey Christianson, Michael Gray, Jerome Sikes, Sidney Sikes, Taylor Sikes, Brad Thompson, Jacob Wheeler, and Steven Wheeler.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Sampagnaro for his long-time health care and friendship. A special thank you to the physicians and staff at Saint Francis Medical Center CVRU.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be made to Loch Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery Association (3960 HWY 139, Monroe, LA 71203) or the Educational Center for Autism in Shreveport, LA (5720 Buncombe Road, Shreveport, LA 71129).
