Funeral services for James Edward Lawson, Jr., 66, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 6, 2019, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.
Mr. Lawson was born May 3, 1953, in Tucson, AZ, and died Saturday, November 2, 2019. Jim,known as Papa to his grandchildren, was an avid golfer. He enjoyed cooking with his sons, family gatherings, and being with his grand kids. A world traveler, who taught his sons and others the honorable games of baseball and golf. He retired as a Oil Production Superintendent for Chevron.To know him was to love him.
Survivors include parents, Roslyn and James E. Lawson, Sr.; wife, Glyn S. Lawson; sons, James E. Lawson III (Crystal), Benjamin M. Lawson (Laura), and Kenneth C. Lawson; grandchildren, Zoey and Zach Lawson, Ivan and Odin Lawson, and Tyler Zimmer; siblings, Valerie Steen, Laura Lewis, Mark Lawson, and Karen Burke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Chuck Eppinette, Kenny Smith, Danny Peeler, Bubba Richardson, Bo Holloway, Jamie Smith, David Walker, and all of his golf buddies.
