James E. “Jamie” Hudson
Funeral services celebrating the life of James Earl Hudson, 72, of Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 29, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA with Rev. Jeff Luellen officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jamie died January 25, 2018, at his residence after complications of COPD.
Jamie was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. He received his Master’s Degree Plus 30 from Louisiana Tech University. Jamie held many executive positions with Bell South and Century Tel. Throughout his career, he taught as an adjunct professor at Louisiana Tech University and Bossier Community College. After retirement, he became a private investigator for the Louisiana Indigent Defender Board. His passion was successfully defending children and working tirelessly to see that their best interest was defended. Jamie was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He loved spending time with family and friends, and no one ever loved to hunt and fish, did it any more, or was any better at it than Jamie.
He was preceded in death by his father Woodrow Wilson Hudson and his brothers, Grady Hudson and Jimmy Don Hudson.
Survivors: wife, Jackie Mehl Hudson who he adored; Mother, Mrs. Martha F. Hudson; Daughter, Lexi Hudson James; Brother, Kevin Hudson and wife, Beth; 2 Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his Labrador hunting companions, Janet Jackson and June Carter (Junebug).
Pallbearers will be David Thomas, Will Barham, Brandon Hudson, J. P. Wyatt, Michael Wyatt and Richard Fewell, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan James, Wil Hudson, Garrett Hudson, Gabe Hudson, Ryan Hudson, Cory Mehl, Cameron Mehl, Johnny Wyatt, Scotty Costello, and Somnath Pandey.
A very special heartfelt thank you to the ICU medical staff for the tremendous care administered to Jamie over the last three weeks. And also to Jerry Mehl, Annette Trick, and his brother, Kevin Hudson for their help, support, and sacrifice during this difficult time.
