James Lavelle Duffey

Memorial Services for James Lavelle Duffey, 83, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. Inurnment will follow shortly after.

Mr. Duffey was born February 14, 1940, in Monroe, LA, and passed away August 7, 2023, in West Monroe, LA.

James served his country in the United States Army. He then became a fireman with the city of Monroe and the owner of his fence company. He was also a member of First West Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Felt and Sophia Duffey; brothers, Adolph, T.A., Felix, J.C., Benny Joe, Robert, and Phillip; and his sisters, Dorothy, and Rita Juanita.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wilma Duffey; daughters, Cami Brack and Debra Holmes (Dan); sister, Rita Burns and Roy Duffey; granddaughters, Laura and husband, Ziad Bitar, Destiny Holmes, Traci Dunn, and Valerie Dunn; great grandsons, Carter Graham, and Clancy Graham; great granddaughter, Olivia Valentine; grandsons, David Holmes and wife, Andrea, Joshua Holmes and wife, Jessica and Jon Holmes and wife, Brittany; great grandchildren, Connor, Sean, Lucy, Lilith, Seth, Zach, and Myra Holmes, and Eli, Amara, and Enok.
