Funeral services for James David Montgomery, Sr., 81, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 8, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Montgomery passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017, at his residence. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, a former professional bull rider, and a lead project engineer with Ford, Bacon & Davis.
Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by his wife, Gay Lynn Andrews Montgomery.
Survivors include his children, James David Montgomery, Jr., and wife Lori, and Michael Glenn Montgomery; grandson, Sean Montgomery and wife Taylor; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kannon, Brodie, Kruse, and Elle Margaret; and sister, Iris Jeanette.
Pallbearers will be Steve Masters, Allan Morrison, Bo Woodard, Ronald Hopkins, Gerald Farrar, and Gus Bertucci.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
