Funeral services for James D. “Jim” Stephens, 75, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 21, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. James Doughty officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Monroe, LA.
Mr. Stephens, a retired pharmaceutical sales representative, was born January 29, 1942 in Winnsboro, LA and passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was employed by Syntex Labs for over 25 years. Mr. Stephens was a member of First Baptist Church, Monroe, LA.
Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Alene Stephens; and nephew, Sam Chaney.
Survivors include his wife, Marjo Chaney Stephens; daughters, Kalynda Cook, Kalisha Olds and husband Scott, and Jamie Roark and husband Charles; grandchildren, Blake Roark, Addison Roark, Emily Cook and Kameron Olds; brother-in-law, Floyd Chaney and wife Glenda; niece, Cinnamon Chaney; and numerous cousins and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Scott Olds, Charles Roark, Blake Roark, Jason Smith, Brad Johnson, and Mike Swinney. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Hartt, Jack Walker, Terry Kincaid, and Harold Mason.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
