Funeral Services celebrating the life of Mr. James Clifton “JC” Bond Sr., 94, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Charles Martindale officiating. Interment will be held in Hasley Cemetery Pavilion, West Monroe.James Clifton “JC” Bond was born February 3, 1921 in Sumrall Mississippi, and passed away August 2, 2015. He was a decorated WWII Navy Veteran and a survivor of the last ship sunk in the war. He sustained combat injuries and was proud of his service in defense of our liberty. Upon returning from the war he reared his family not only by telling how life should be lived but demonstrated it by his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe where he served in various responsibilities to further the cause of Christ. He was a member of the American Legion. He was an avid fisherman, as well as, enjoying traveling the country in his motor home. Before retirement he was a maintenance supervisor at Ingalls Ship yard in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Alvanelle Holmes Bond; his 2nd wife of 22 years, Oreatha Luttrell; daughter, Sherry Lynn Bond Ragland; grandsons, Paul Brodie and David Timothy Ragland.Survivors include his sister, Leta Bond Buhrman of Warner- Robbins, GA; son, James C. Bond Jr.; daughter, Sue Bond Brodie; two brothers-in- law, Wallace S. Holmes of Navoto, CA and Alton “Jiggs” Cooper of West Monroe, LA.; grandchildren, Wendy Brodie Newsom, Jennifer Bond Chism, Ben Brodie, and Renee Ragland; great grandchildren, Dr. Dan Newsom, Rachel Newsom Ramsey, Mary Catherine Newsom, David Newsom, Zachary Chism, Joshua Chism, Kara Brodie Rogers, Brittany Brodie, Drew Austin King, Brett Alexander King and Brooklyn Joy King; great- great grandchild, Madelyn Clair Ramsey Pallbearers will be Ben Brodie, David Newsom, Dr. Dan Newsom, Zachary Chism, Joshua Chism, Drew King, Joel Ramsey, and Eric Rogers.Visitation will be from 1:00PM until time of service.Memorials can be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.Online Registry/Condolences: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.comArrangements under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
