Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. James C. Dozier, 83, of Monroe, LA will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA with Bro. Bill Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Hasley Cemetery West Monroe, LA.

James Carroll (Jim) Dozier is now with his Lord, Jesus Christ. Carroll, born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, married Tommie Jean Vance on January 9, 1958. Before they were married, Tommie and Carroll dated for six years, including a two-year separation while he served in the Army and was deployed to Germany. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Anna Pearl Dozier and his two sisters, Norma Jean Granberry and Nelda Pettit.

Carroll has left behind an incredible heritage: all of his immediate descendants are followers of Jesus Christ. Three of his four sons and their families live in the Monroe area, Jim (Sonya) and their daughters, Anna and Allison; Don (Kim) and their children, Derek, Elyse and Lydia; and Michael (Abby) and their daughter, Olivia. One son lives in Portland, Oregon, Gary (Paige) and their children, Caleb, Makayla, and Grace.

Tommie has faithfully cared for her husband for the last 2 ½ years as he was diagnosed with an aortic-aneurysm and myelodysplasia.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 12, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Swartz Building Fund.
