Funeral services for Mr. James (Buck) Rudolph Hubbard, 82, of Grandbury, TX will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in the chapel of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home at Colleyville, TX with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery with military honors.
Buck passed away in Monroe, LA Sunday, February 22, 2009 after being a resident for a short time at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home. He was a Navy WWII Veteran having served on the Yorktown Carrier. He worked for forty-five years in Sanitation Disposal. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church of Granbury, TX, where he was a deacon. Buck was involved in local politics in Tarrant County, serving on the City Council of North Richland Hills, and after moving to Colleyville he served as Mayor for ten years.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Sue Porter Hubbard of Granbury, TX; children, Sonny Hubbard and wife Brenda, Ronald Hubbard and wife Martha, Curtis Hubbard and wife Marie, Sue Kulaga and husband Dr. Andrew, Donna Eckhardt and husband Rev. Warren , Jan Freeman and husband Phillip, Rhonda Moore, and Sheree Yarborough and husband Jeff; twenty grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Martin Leverts and Jimmy Bounds; sisters, Margie Dale, Shirley Bounds, Betty Woodell, and Carolyn Capps.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville, TX.
Memorials may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, TX or Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Monroe, LA.
