Jackie Lamont Lowrey

Jackie Lamont Lowrey passed from this world on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at St. Francis hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Monroe, LA on January 25, 1955, and raised in Holly Ridge, LA, Jackie was an animal lover, a storyteller, a joker and prankster, and a friend to all. He would go above and beyond for someone in need. He was a jack of all trades, including carpentry, laying floors, and minor home repair. Jackie also enjoyed working with livestock at local auctions. He retired from the Monroe Housing Authority, where he was a pillar of the elderly community. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. L. Lowrey and Bessie Evans Lowrey, and his brother, Roy Allen Lowrey.

He will be missed by his survivors: sister, Judy Lowrey Lytle; son, Jeffrey Lowrey, and his sons, Troy and Layne; daughter, Misty Johnson, her husband Jay, and her children Alyssa, Jacob, and Aiden Bass; daughter, Dixie Broadway Knighten, her husband Ben, and their children Corey Crowell, Gabriel, Elija, and Clara Knighten; his nephew, Jay Lytle; and niece, Lindsey Lytle.

A celebration of life will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA.
