Jack Rutledge was born on March 31, 1956, and lived a full, blessed life before his death on August 17, 2023. Jack was raised in West Monroe, LA, where he and his twin brother, Brack, were widely known for their many escapades. On March 20, 1981, he married his sweetheart, Paula, and enjoyed 42 years as her proud husband. Nearly nine years into their marriage, they welcomed their first daughter, Angela, followed by their second daughter, Alayna, three years later. Being a father and traveling with his "girls" brought him immense joy, and he found his greatest fulfillment in caring for his family.
Jack was raised on his family’s cattle ranch and learned the value of hard work at a young age. He grew up alongside many cousins, aunts, uncles, and other kinfolk. Young Jack was beloved by his community and was well-known for his kind heart (and a few practical jokes). He spent many years as a banker and a broker before he entered the electrical industry. Whether coworkers, friends, clients, or neighbors, everyone could rely on Jack for a warm smile, an engaging story, a comforting hug, and infectious laughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robbie and Iva Rutledge; brother, Brack Rutledge; and mother-in-law, Faye Wilhelm.
Jack is survived by his wife, Paula; daughters, Angela Barton, and husband, Dylan, Alayna Whitmore, and husband, John; grandchildren, Jace, Nora, Elijah, Lyla, and Ezra; as well as many other loved ones.
The pallbearers will be Wendell Jones, Mike Wheelis, Wayne Rutledge, Gabe Rutledge, Zach Rutledge, and Butch Oaks.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at McClendon Baptist Church in West Monroe, starting at 8:30 A.M. The service will commence at 11:00 A.M., followed by interment at Rutledge Cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone who has reached out to them during this trying time.
