Jack Raymond ArantFuneral services for Jack Raymond Arant, 77, of Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church of Monroe, with Reverend J. Roddy Taylor and Dr. Lynn Malone officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Mr. Arant left us to go to Heaven on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at his home.Mr. Arant was preceded in death by his mother and father and two siblings. Mr. Arant was born in Monroe, Louisiana at home. He served in the Air Force for three years and retired from Union Pacific Railroad where he was an engineer for forty-four years. He was on the Neville State Championship Football Team in 1955. He enjoyed going to Neville football games, fishing, and working in his vegetable garden. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Anne Arant; his son, Gary Arant and wife Tammie; his daughters, Karen McCormick and husband Kalvin, Leigh Ernst and Billy Dodd; grandchildren, Josh Varnado, Keegan Ernst, Michael McCormick, Scott Arant and Tory Wade; sister, Carolyn Clark and her husband Paul; sister-in-law, Norma Jean Arant; and many nieces and nephews.
