Funeral Services for Mr. J. Ervin Simpson, 90 of West Monroe, LA will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Gordon “Skip” Dean and Fred Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Downsville.

Mr. Simpson passed away on August 20, 2008. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Mr. Simpson retired as Chief Pipeline Inspector for Morrison Knudsen, but went back to work and again retired in 1993 from Bechtel Corp. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. Mr. Simpson is preceded in death by his parents, Tal and Lillie Mae Simpson, sisters, Mary Jo Fulton and LaRue Simpson, brothers, T. F. “Red” Simpson, Jr., and Billy Ford Simpson; and son, Barry Wayne Simpson.

Survivors include his children, Dale Simpson and his wife Liz, Karen Shingler and her husband Charlie, Ramona Morrison and her husband Mike, Delia Davis and her husband Cody, James “Earl” Simpson, and Katie Smith; six grandchildren, Delia Simpson, Gary Simpson, Paula Gordon, Melissa Clevenger, Jeff Jetton, and William Smith; six great-grandchildren; brother, John V. Simpson; and sister, Floyce D. Meyer.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Simpson, Denny Garner, Jeff Jetton, Kevin Meyer, Charlie Shingler, and Mike Meyer.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, August 22, 2008 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe and from 10:00 am until time of service at Highland Baptist Church.
