Funeral Services for Mrs. Iris Joyce Walters, 84, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Joe Martina officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Wednesday.

Mrs. Walters was born March 29, 1938, in Elizabeth, LA and passed away December 30, 2022. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Madeline Singletary; sister, Alma “Sue” Kapotsy; brothers, Nelson Singletary, Emerson Singletary, and C.L. Singletary; and her beloved son, Stephen O’Neal Walters.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Raymond O’Neal Walters of Monroe, LA; daughter, Tina and Scott Winters of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Champion Walters of Ft. Myers, FL, Toi and Eric Nichols of Ft. Myers, FL, Christian and Amelia Simon of West Monroe, LA, and Courtney and Christien Crain of West Monroe, LA; great grandchildren, Easton Leland Nichols of Ft. Myers, FL, Walker James Simon of West Monroe, LA, and Destiny Walters of Ft. Myers, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Eric Nichols, David Walters, Jon Walters, Darrell Simon, and Dustin Land.
