Irene Garland

Funeral Services for Mrs. Irene Garland, 92, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, August 6, 2020, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Rev. Danny McIlveene officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Thursday.

Irene Garland was born January 1, 1928 and passed away August 3, 2020. She enjoyed fishing, bird watching, gardening and flowers. Mrs. Garland was an avid reader and loved teaching Sunday School. But above all, she loved Jesus and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gus Stephen Theodos; granddaughter, Sarah Theodos; three brothers; one sister; and a niece.

Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Garland; sister, Lorene Sites; son, Pete Theodos (Brenda); daughter, Cathie Takewell (Owen); grandchildren, Michelle, Toby, Jonathan, Michael, Mari, and Mark; great grandchildren, Andrew, Blaine, Christopher, Ruth Ann, Tyler, Landry, Logan, Kattie, Garrett, Laine, Drake, and Bailey; great-great grandchildren, Levi, Sophia, Genesis, Anna Leigh, Hutson, and Julia; and numerous nieces, nephews and her church family.
