Ira F. Whittington

Funeral Services for Mr. Ira F. Whittington, 79, of Calhoun, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 13, 2018, at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Marty Black officiating. Interment will be in New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Whittington was born September 28, 1938, and passed away January 11, 2018. He was a member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, where he served on several committees including the Building & Grounds Committee. He was in the Irving Sills Sunday School Class and he was also a member of the choir. Mr. Whittington was retired from Graphic Packaging. He was a member of the Chevy Club and the Old Car Club. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren which were the love of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Whittington; daughters, Molly Gengenbach and husband Joe, and Bonnie Williams and husband Jason; grandchildren, Gareth Gengenbach, Eli Gengenbach, Michael Timothy Moore, Jr. and wife Sara, Casey Moore and Cody Moore; brother, Carroll Keith Whittington and wife Carol; and a host of cousins.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Whittington’s grandsons and sons-in-law.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 P.M. until service time on Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be to New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter or to the charity of your choice.
