Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Ida M. Cook, 80, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Dr. Jim Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in the Hasley Cemetery West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Cook was born on July 4, 1937 and passed away on September 30, 2017. She was a member of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church in West Monroe. Mrs. Cook was very active in her community. She was President of the Highland Garden Club, where she had been a member for over 50 years. She served on the Board of Directors and Trustees for the Monroe Little Theater, and also served for many years as a judge of the Cleanest City and was a chaperon for the Miss Louisiana Pagent. Mrs. Cook was a former member of the Monroe Garden Club and PEO. Mrs. Cook is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ora Antley; and her sisters, Faye Bailey and Virginia Calhoun.
Survivors include her husband, James Cook, Sr.; son, James Cook, Jr.; granddaughter, Emily Cook; twin sister, Grace White; sisters, Elsie King and LaVerne Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Steve Cranford, Greg Souther, Paul Johnston, Henry Chriceol, Wes Mercer and Mike Womble.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until Service Time on Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
