Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Isaac Hedric Tidwell, 83, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. Bruce McGee and Rev. Danny McIlvenne officiating. Interment will follow in the New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Tidwell was born on October 13, 1933, and passed away on May 31, 2017 at his residence in West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Tidwell was a real estate developer in West Ouachita Parish; he loved the outdoors with his cattle and horses. He was always helping people, he and his close friends donated the property where Camp T. L. James Boy Scout Camp is located, they also donated the land where the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s training and shooting facility are located in West Monroe. He was a founding member of the Calvert Crossing Golf Club and Subdivision.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Vince Tidwell and Margaret “Maggie” Matilda Ray Tidwell; his sister and brother-in-law, who were like his second parents, Daisy and Leon Neal; wife, Stephanie Caldwell Tidwell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dollie Lolley Smith (Jesse), Mary Pilgreen (Alva), Edna Smith (David), Mildred Walker (Charlie), and Susie Halley (Warren); nieces, Charlotte Walker Garland Haley and Alma Pilgreen Hayes; nephews, Thomas Lane Lolley and Vince Lee “Pop” Pilgreen.

Survivors include his wife, Sharron Eldridge Tidwell; sons, Dewayne Tidwell and wife Debbie, Justin Ouchley and wife Christie, Josh Simpkins; daughter, Mandy Mayes Barnett and husband Jason; Penny Tidwell, mother of his son, Dewayne; eight grandchildren, Isaac, Julia Grace, Hannah, Olivia, Sophia, Christopher, River Belle and Kennedy Leigh; nieces, Mary Durham, Cookie Haynes, Shirley Thomas, Connie McKinnie and Barbara Tanck; nephews, Jimmy C. Lolley, Robert Pilgreen, Ervin Pilgreen, David Smith, Bobby Joe Walker, Charles Walker and Jimmy Evans; and numerous friends.

Pallbearers will be Chubby Garland, Pistol Carter, Poncho Williams, Jerry Don Walker, Mitch Walker and Jesse Lolley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Cooper, Rock Smith, Mike Wilson, and Paul Purvis.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, June 2, 2017 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

The family wants to express our thanks to Shemeka Gibson and the entire staff of Angel Care of Louisiana for the wonderful way they took care of I.H. for last 4 years.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Boy Scouts of America.
