Memorial services for Howard Hamilton Smith, Jr., 82, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2010, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum chapel with Rev. David Brown officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Smith passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010. He was a member of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church, instrumental in establishing the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum in Monroe, and was past treasurer of Cooley Parent Group. Mr. Smith was formerly an accountant for United Gas/Penzzoil.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Stevenson Smith; daughters, Marilyn Kaye Smith French and husband Keith Anderson of Baton Rouge, LA, and Carol Ann Smith of Houston, TX; son, David Hale Smith of Monroe, LA; and three grandchildren, Bradley Michael French and wife Crystal, Ryan Keith French, and Rachel Kaye French, all of Baton Rouge, LA.
Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 PM until service time at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum chapel.
Memorials may be made to Chennault Aviation and Military Museum.
