Horace Alton "Dupey" Cobb

Memorial services for Mr. Horace Alton “Dupey” Cobb, 84, of Monroe, LA, will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Pointe Church, Monroe, LA, with Bishops Bennie Jones and John Wesley Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until time of service.

Dupey was born February 7, 1938, in Dubach, LA and passed away September 27, 2022, peacefully at his home. He retired from General Motors after 21 years. He was a long-time member of Grace Pointe Church. Dupey loved to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing every chance he got. Dupey was an All-State guard in basketball and ran the 440 and 880 relays in track and field at Ruston High School. He was instrumental in leading both teams to state championships in 1956.

He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Cobb, mother, Alvern Cobb, and brother, Jimmy Cobb.

Dupey is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sandra; daughters, Staci Ojeda of Melissa, Texas, Amy Cobb of Celina, Texas; grandchildren, Heather Frey and husband Misha of Melissa, Texas, RJ Ojeda of Coppell, Texas; great granddaughter, Abigail Frey; as well as other extended family.

The family would like to thank his caregiver Angela “Angie” Wallace and all the friends and family that have been there with their love and support.
