Graveside services for Hollis C. Cruse, 94, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 30, 2011, at Riverview Cemetery, South Grand Street, Monroe, with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating.
Mr. Cruse passed away Friday, May 27, 2011. He was a member of New Light Baptist Church, was a World War II veteran, and was a 57 year member of the Grand Lodge of the State of Louisiana as a master mason.
He was preceded in death by wife, Vera Katherine Van Cruse; a son, Hollis Hilton “Skipper” Cruse; a daughter, Glenda Dianne Cruse Willhite; a grandson, Floyd Ronald Watkins; and siblings, Woodrow C. Cruse, Ethel Marie Cruse Folden, Clarence Cruse, Reatha Cruse Baker, Dicie Cruse Lisenby, Kathleen Cruse Miles, and Myrtle Cruse Bradley.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Jean Boyd Cruse; daughter, Carol Cruse Tucker and husband Billy Tucker; son, Scott Cruse and wife Rita Cruse; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason Tucker, Hollis Randall Watkins, Ronnie Watkins, Chuck Watkins, Marshall Wright, Jr., Quincy Lee Wright and Christopher Dean White.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Pat Young and Newton Samson.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, Louisiana.
