Hilton Leo Johns, Sr.

Funeral services for Hilton Leo Johns, Sr., 98, of Calhoun, LA., will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.  Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA., under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Hilton was born on November 5, 1925 in Flora, Mississippi and passed away on November 5, 2023 in West Monroe, LA.  He worked for Monroe Frozen Foods for over 25 years working in shipping by night and salesman by day.  He also worked for Advanced Fire Protection.  Mr. Hilton was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the Battle of the Bulge as a paratrooper.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Esters Eli Johns and Velma Corean Johns, wife, Levearn Johns, daughter, Velma Ruth Nelson, brother, Levi Chuck Johns and sister, Bobbie Ruth LeBurn.

Survivors include his brother, Gerald Johns and his wife, Karen; children, Hilton Johns, Jr. and his wife, Margaret, Leola Quimby and her husband, David, Mary Ann Meek, and Charlene Hibbard; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
