Funeral services for Mr. Herbert J. (Joe) Banks, Jr., 58, of Mangham, La. will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Mangham United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Mercer, Rev. Marshall Sevier and Rev. Rick Aultman officiating. Interment will be in Gwin Cemetery in Mangham, La. under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Mr. Banks died May 26, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mr. Joe was a member of the Mangham United Methodist Church. He was the founder of Joe Banks Drywall and Acoustics Company, Inc. where he surrounded himself with very loyal employees he considered to be his family. He was a member of the Richland State Bank Board of Directors, W. M. Baker Masonic Lodge, Barak Shrine. Mr. Joe had many talents as a cattleman, rancher, wildlife conservationist, realtor and was an avid sportsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert J. Banks, Sr. and Ethel Banks Brown, and his step-father, Henry Brown.
Survivors: his wife of 40 years, Mrs. Sandra Eppinette Banks, Son, Herbert Joel (Trae) Banks, III; Daughter, Jada Banks Kudlas and husband, Devin; Grandchildren, Herbert J. (Joel) Banks, IV, Larkin Emily Banks, Kaia Ann Kudlas and Zoe Alesandra Kudlas; two Sisters, Dot Banks Crafts and husband, Doug, and Sandra Jackson and Husband, Larry; Niece, Kalisa Edgar; Nephews, Eric and Jeremy Jackson and numerous Eppinette nieces and nephews; “Brother and Sister” George and Patricia Johnson, Sisters-in-law, Janice E. Yelverton, Betty E. Chapman, and Peggy E. Stapp and husband, Richard.
Pallbearers will be Carlton Clark, Ronnie Graham, David R. Davis, John Searcy, Keith Pruitt, and Tim Fife
Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Klier, Jeff Wolnizek, Walter Cochran and Mack Perry
Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. Until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Rayville, La.
Memorials may be made to the Mangham United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
