H. D. “Pap” Gullette
H.D. Gullette, a retired Masonry Contractor passed away Monday, December 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Danny L. McIlveene and Rev. Clyde Sanchez officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until service time Thursday with interment a Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Gullette was born March 6, 1929 in Meridian, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Thelma Gullette; and his brothers, Jesse V. Gullette and Louis Ray Gullette, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sarah Juanita Gullette; son, H. David Gullette, Jr.; daughter, Dr. Donna L. Gullette; son, Charles V. “Chuck” Gullette and wife Yvonne Gullette; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was a charter member of Bayou Oaks Baptist Church in Monroe, Oakland Heights Masonic Lodge in Meridian, Mississippi, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner, as well as a Korean War Air Force Veteran. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, but preferred turkey hunting above all.
Pallbearers are Joe Bob Gates, Louis Ray Gullette, Jr., Bryant G. Gullette, H. Dave Gullette, III, Jesse K. Gullette, Ray Nelson, and James Wheeler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bayou Oaks Baptist Church or charity of your choosing.
