A memorial service for Mrs. Henrietta Ragland, 92, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at New Light Baptist Church in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Visitation will be held from 1:30 P.M. until service time at the church.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, May 22, 2023, in Northwest Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery in Keithville, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Ragland was born October 5, 1930, in Beirut, Lebanon, and passed away May 11, 2023, in Monroe, LA. She was member if New Light Baptist Church and the sorority for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She was also the credit manager of the Department Of Transportation and Development (DOTD) for District 5, from which she retired.
Mrs. Ragland moved to the United States at the age of 23 from Aleppo, Syria to go to college in California, and she met her husband in Fresno, CA. She was a very special loving lady and anyone who met her loved her.
Mrs. Ragland was preceded in death by her husband, Wm T. Ragland, Jr.; and three brothers, Leon, Henry and Johnny Palanjian. She is survived by her children, Charlotte Ragland, Dennis Ragland, Richard and Sandy Long, and Darren and Cathy Ragland; grandchildren, Troy and Tiffany Ragland, Tiffany R. Worley, DJ and Elizabeth Ragland, and Brett and Samantha R. McGuffee; and seven great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Marley Simpson, Dylan Ragland, Hunter, River and William Cartwright, and Scarlette Ragland.
