Helen Doris Hines Benson Sullivan

Graveside services celebrating the life of Mrs. Helen Doris Hines Benson Sullivan, 98, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2023, at the Start Cemetery in Start, LA, with Rev. Danny Chance officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. on Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Sullivan was born on March 18, 1924, in Start, LA and passed away on January 25, 2023, in Monroe, LA. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed many things including squirrel hunting, playing cards and dominos, bowling, gardening, and golfing. Mrs. Sullivan loved going fishing with her father. She was an avid shopper and really loved a midnight run to Walmart. Her favorite thing in life above all else was spending time with her son, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Talmadge and Lottie Hines; husbands, Douglas Benson, Sr. and Claude Sullivan; son, Douglas Benson, Jr.; daughter, Terressa Benson; grandson, Shannon Benson; sisters, Margie Ritter and Faye Wilhelm; and brother-in-law, Robert Fowler.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Dana Benson; grandchildren, Lee Benson, Jason Benson (Crystal), Jennifer Benson, and Brandy Taylor; granddaughter-in-law, Vicki Benson; great grandchildren, Jacob Benson (Ashley), Austin Benson, Landon Benson, Jayce Benson, Oscar Benson, Madison Bernice, Preston Bernice, and Malorie Taylor; sister, Ruby Fowler; brother, T. L. Hines (Marie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Lee Benson, Jason Benson, Jacob Benson, Austin Benson, Landon Benson, Jayce Benson, Oscar Benson, and Preston Bernice.
