Funeral services for Helen Browder Bennett of Winnsboro, will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, with Pastors Johnny Magnuson and Frances Guy officiating. Interment will follow in New Winnsboro Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Bennett was a life long resident of Franklin Parish. She was a homemaker and beautician, having made the ladies of Franklin Parish prettier for over 65 years. In her later years, after having closed her shop, she went to the nursing homes and did the hair of the residents there. She was a loving, giving person who always thought of others in her daily life, as well as her Christian walk with Jesus. From the time she was baptized as a child at Lone Cedar Baptist Church, Mrs. Bennett faithfully attended and supported her church. Her walk here on earth was always guided by her Lord and Savior. Mrs. Bennett, or Aunt Helen, as her nieces and nephews knew her, was loved by her large family. She always supported her “kids” by being there for them and giving them her love and affection. She was the daughter of the late Henry Browder and Callie Parks Browder, and the wife of the late G. L. “Poodle” Bennett. Her brothers were the late J.A. Browder, W. L. Browder, and Ramage Browder. Mrs. Bennett is survived by two sisters; Mrs. Barbara Evans of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and Mrs. Elaine Price of Winnsboro, LA; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as a vast number of friends and family besides. Pallbearers will be nephews of Mrs. Bennett. Mrs. Bennett was the recipient of the love and care of Hospice Care Resources. Her journey on earth was made easier at the hands of these loving, care-givers. Her special sitters, Bonnie, Lydia, Sally, Norma, and Cathy will always be remembered for the special care they gave to Mrs. Bennett. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. Sunday till time of service, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
