Helen Joye Tucker

Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Helen Joye Tucker, 89, of Downsville, LA will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Piney Woods Christian Church in Downsville, LA with Rev. Blaine Markham officiating.  Interment will be in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Downsville, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Joye was born on October 5, 1933, in Shreveport, LA and passed away at her home in Downsville, LA on July 5, 2023.  She loved tutoring children and worked as a Teachers Aide for over 28 years.  Joye is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Everette Barkley; her husband of 17 years, Billy Joe Tucker; and her grandson, Lance Antley.

Survivors include her children, Vicki Antley and her husband, Roger, Melinda Brown, and Wayne Brown and his wife, Darlene; sister, Velva Jean Bryan; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Brown, Wesley Brown, Justin Hammock, Doug Foster, Alan Antley, Brad McGehee, Philip Bryan, David Bryan, and Rick Hatton.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Foster, Steve Bryan, Andy Bryan, Wayne McKey and Wayne Hammons.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday at Piney Woods Christian Church in Downsville, LA.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to MD Anderson Cancer Hospital.
