Funeral service for Helen Hayes Norris, 92, will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Monroe, LA, with Father Jim Moran officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road Monroe.
Helen passed away on January 24, 2017. She was born in Cotton Valley, LA, the daughter of Sue and H.R. Hayes. She was a graduate of Northeast Junior College and Louisiana Tech University. Helen did graduate work at the University of Colorado and at Columbia University in New York. She then taught Business courses at Northeast Junior College for several years.
Helen was a former member of the Junior Charity League. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the Monroe Camera Club. She was an avid amateur genealogist. Above all, Helen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Pascal; her sons, Jim (Amy), Richard (Marie Jo), and Paul (Carolyn); her grandchildren, Hillary, James (Chelsea), Noelle (Jeremy) Clark and Stephanie (Scott) Lockwood; her great grandchildren, Juliette and Benjamin Clark, and Emma and William Lockwood. Helen is also survived by her sister, Charline Hayes Brown. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nell Hayes Faulk.
The family extends its gratitude to Eddie Mae Menyweather, Glendora Jackson, Hanna Wilson, and all the ladies who nursed Helen.
