Helen Fernandez Allen

Funeral services for Helen Fernandez Allen, 88, of Monroe, La., will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2013, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Neustifter officiating. Interment will be in the columbarium at the church.

Mrs. Allen passed away Friday, July 26, at St. Francis Medical Center.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband John H. Allen, Jr., daughter Sharon Allen Taylor and grandson James “Jay” Robert Taylor III.

Survivors include her son John Heath Allen III and his wife Jan, daughter Arden Allen Dufilho and husband Edward, and son-in-law Jim Taylor and wife Linda. Grandchildren include Tanya Taylor Pesek, Jennifer Allen Etzel, John Heath Allen IV, Billy Allen, Alden Allen, Halle Allen, Claire Allen and Carrie Allen. Mrs. Allen also had five great grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Dufilho, John Allen, Billy Allen, Mark Pesek and Erik Etzel.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Mulhearn’s Funeral Home on Sterlington Road in Monroe.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to caregivers Pat Bynum and Joyce Hodges as well as Senior Care Services, Inc. and Emily Tucker.
