Funeral Services for Heather Renee Berry, 34, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at McClendon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Rick Crandall and Rev. James Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, LA., under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Heather passed away suddenly on May 31, 2013. Heather was born in West Monroe, LA on March 25th, 1979. She graduated from West Monroe High School in 1997 and was elected as the WMHS Homecoming Queen during her senior year. Heather graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for ten years in the healthcare field with specialty areas including Neonatal ICU, CCU, pediatric, and Hospice care. Heather’s unique temperament and loving personality facilitated the level of patience, passion, and unceasing care she afforded to her patients.
Outside of her professional duties, Heather was also a talented musician and artist. She played piano for over 27 years. Heather played piano at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Monroe, LA, worked as a piano accompanist at ULM, and sang Alto. Heather was also a talented artist who loved painting and drawing. While attending ULM, Heather spent much of her free time working and volunteering at the Louisiana Baptist Children’s home where she tutored at the Grace Cottage.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Joseph Scott Berry, Jr.
Survivors include her parents, Steve and June Berry; Brother, Heath Berry and Girlfriend, Saba Ramazani; Grandparents, Bro. James and Robbie Hayes and Cletha Mae Berry; Aunts and Uncles, Martha and James Miley, Jackie and Dennis Berry, Jim and Karen Hayes, Betty and Mitchell Tackett all of Oak Grove, LA, and Bobbie and Pete McDonald of Gulfport, MS and numerous cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Wade Bishop, A.J. Burns III, Joe Hall, Jim Hayes, Jason LeDoux, and Clyde Self.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, June 3, 2013 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, the McClendon Children’s Building Fund, or Gideon’s International.
